I confess..............guilty as charged!!

I have an addiction and here's the proof:-

re-ment craze

Earlier on in a previous blog, I confessed to collecting re-ment from Japan, I have a dolls house basement full of re-ment as you can see...heehee and re-ment in boxes and on display in the dolls house.

These are 2 of the display shelves in the basement :)

These are some re-ment that have been opened and some still in the plastic packs includes sets from so many collections!

emmm! these are some boxed re=ment and all my reac chairs.
So far in the past couple of weeks I went crazy after I got my first 'le corbusier ' sofa and went on a "miniature designer chair shopping spree" well I can't afford the real size version yet!! :-)

I have a miniature wish list of about 2 pages long and I am slowly working my way down it. My Christmas list should have re-ment or miniatures on it but I want a wii for Christmas :-)
Well.....

I recently watched a documentary about insuring your valuables and I realised that I didn't have a proper inventory of my miniatures! wouldn't it be absolutely dreadful if anything happened to them and I couldn't account for what I had. Especially the tiny little bits of re-ment that came in little sets!

So these pictures are the beginning of my attempt at documenting my stuff! here goes......

perfect hiding place

I had seen a lovely cake decoration in a shop window as I was passing by, and I was tempted to buy it, but as I wasn't going to be baking anything, anytime soon.... I just walked on.
A couple of hours later I was trying to set up a dressing room scene in the top left room of my dolls house when I found the perfect spot for a lovely ornament :-)
I smiled to myself as I remembered the cake decoration, and I searched my bag for it. Surely I bought it didn't I? .......hmmm I played the earlier scene in my head and remembered admiring the cake decoration... and...of-course...silly me! I walked past the shop I never even went in to buy it! but in my head I had imagined going in... tut tut! does this happen to anyone else?
I start arranging a shelf and decide to use a piece of re-ment or miniature, which I have been saving, and I know exactly where it is...she says, I go to where its supposed to be, but its grown legs and walked! or maybe I'm being forgetful!
this explains why last night I was half way out the door when I remembered the car keys, I didn't need anyone to remind me I had left them in the kitchen..so off I went to the kitchen, it wasn't there, it took about 30 seconds for me to realise it was in the dolls house kitchen tsk tsk what is happening :)

I believe, I can fly....not!

OK! I should have had a much more meaningful title to this blog but for now this will do.

Its been half-term for the children this past week, and guess what I have been down with the flu'. How can anyone be down with the flu?
and why is it called the flu!
I didn't feel very much like flying, while I had the flu! and before you say anything I know the 'flu' is different from 'flew'! as in flying, but I deserve a little rant! especially since I was not allowed to fly properly...sorry!..ok puns excluded! I meant I wasn't allowed to be ill, cos I had to be "strong mummy" for the children....

Just when I was getting ready to sneeze, I'd hear ...Mum!!!! can I have some juice? to which I'd reply.....aa...choo ! yessshh you can! (flu speak) :-)

I wasn't even allowed to enjoy the high fever that comes with the flu! the time you get under the covers, shivering! before you break out in a cold sweat! great :-), all because I had to get up and make dinner! but the best part was when daddy got home and then I finally got to 'fly' properly and be waited on hand, foot and "nose"......mmmmm

sorry for moaning :-(

This first image represents chaos! too much to do, tidy...cook..put away.....but too tired to do it!

this represents peace, calmness and beauty! ahhhh! clean tidy just the place to relax!

an uncaptured memory

A bit of a cold and wet day today! but I had a great but funny day!

Got to watch my boys in a school harvest assembly...so cute! their little animated faces in the midst of the other little faces! as they concentrated on getting the words right, doing the actions and all the while smiling...who says kids can't multitask!

The whole school took part as each class got up to sing or act! excited parents had cameras clicking away! I had been prepared to join the "camera-click" gang! I made sure I had packed my old trusty Fuji camera! as any proud parent would.

As the time got nearer ... I got more excited, weeeee! any minute now their little heads would be bopping to the sound of music! quickly my hand was in my bag,

out popped the camera case.... quickly unzipped,

camera up in position!

focus! click!...whaaaaaaaat!

I forgot to put the flash on!

I had missed the moment! everyone was clapping, the children were sitting down! oh no! the picture was dark! I could hardly see anything! ooops!

now I would normally be upset, but I smiled :) yes it was a special moment and yes I missed capturing it on camera but a part of me was I glad I was there to see it! because if I had missed it! the picture would not have been able to capture the true spirit of the moment, the pride I felt! the almost unshed tear! and the look in their eyes as they spotted the mad waving woman at the back of the hall......go boys! go boys! ....its Mummy!

Lights! Camera! ....Lovely day!

All the lights are on!... in the Mayfair mansion!

Kind of describes how I feel today.......ALL LIT UP!!!! :-)

At 9.15, the school run was just over and I was in the car, thinking about my day ahead! and I was pretty excited about a new project I had been working on. I have been doing some research on starting a new venture and this morning while I was driving I had the most amazing insight on resolving a problem I had been tackling :-)

suddenly it was lights! camera! eureka! I got it! I was very psyched ;-)

Was it, the crisp cold wind, or the signs of autumn all around, that made everything so much clearer!

I was energised! and I couldn't wait to get back to my laptop and start typing away....
There were things to be done!

Open the door...put on the lights.... begin :-)

Yeah!...I'm organised!

How awesome is this!

I have become organised!
Ok, it might sound a bit cliched but, I have been looking for a way to organise my growing collection of re-ment! oops did I forget to mention it, yes I collect re-ment :)

Its from Japan, and is amazing, they create exact replicas in miniature of everything, I mean everything...... from vacuum cleaners and microwaves to ...Starbucks coffee, spaghetti and meatballs, how cool is that!

If you haven't guessed by now I am addicted but that is a story for my other blog.

I found this amazing storage box thing on auction, it is probably for tools and bits but its perfect to keep all my lovely re-ment. I even have little cards to tell me whats in each compartment! swell.

When it arrived today, it was so satisfying arranging the bits in the different compartments. When I finished I thought! wow!
well....
All I need is another 10 of these box set case thingies and I'm good.

The storage box set thingy! with 28 little compartments! cool

my new labelling system, have done only 5 but Yeah!

all the re-ment, arranged according to type, I am so pleased...........

Cars...today!

Pictures taken with a G1 phone straight off the tv :)

The car in the studio

the speed James May did

James May in the Bugatti

Great spoiler!

I get a thrill, when I watch a fast car racing down a long straight road, its tyres widely spaced, sitting firmly on the road with such grip, it would be impossible to separate it from the road. I imagine myself behind the wheels holding on, my heart beating slowly, totally relaxed, myself as an extension of the car, with the wind flowing over the car, my son says its aerodynamics :)

Today I watched a 2006 rerun of Top gear on Dave. James May also known as Captain Slow:) was driving a Bugatti Veyron, He did 407 km per hour, it was breathtaking, there were tears in his eyes as he slowed the car down, when he drove the car around the track to prepare it for the race down the straits, I was reminded of the feeling I get when I am driving a Mercedes SL 500 around the test track with the curved banking on Gran Turismo 5 on PlayStation! its something I would love to do in real life....one day

Wednesday 2 September 2009

My day today!

Its Wednesday, and its been raining most of the day! after a long summer holiday, all systems were go this morning as I rushed to get the kids to school for their first day back, believe me 30 minutes before you are about to leave the house is not the time to find out that your son has grown yet again! his trousers were a couple of metres off the floor OK maybe not that much :) what I mean is they were too short! and there I was, the "very able mum" (I wish) searching through the new sets I had got, to find one that fit. He is 5 and this morning he went to school in size 7-8 trousers! yeah :(

School shoes! mmm! don't get me started! we went shopping 2 days ago as I wanted to wait to the last minute just in case they decided to grow some more and yes just as I expected! they had! so they had all gone up a size! and with a lighter wallet, we marched off home, and I only went out for shoes but came home with some bags that just seemed to attach themselves to me! I didn't buy that!? surely I don't need any more bleach! this was "school shopping" trip but I can't seem to help myself, when I am in a shop I suddenly go through my "mental household list" of all that's needed,

"mum, can I have trainers instead"? yes dear ....while I am thinking "I must pick-up some plasters and tissue!" tut tut!

I was so excited when I got home today as the postman had left a note for me, I had 3 parcels to pick up from the post office and I hoped, a re-ment parcel I was waiting for was among them. As soon as I got back into the car I ripped a corner of the parcel just to be sure! lol! all the way home I had mentally unwrapped the parcel and ... anyway! I got home and opened it properly and this is what was inside
This is pharmacy drug/ medicine store set from re-ment! I am a re-ment addict! I confess! I collect re-ment!
who wouldn't fall in love with this "itty bitty" spray bottle! the attention to detail is amazing! well! considering I haven't taken it out of the plastic :-)

Why?

I have a passion for collecting, my mum says its hoarding :)

When I find something I like I spend time researching it, and I always want to know everything about it. I have had my fair share of "dodgy buys" due to lack of knowledge, but its been worth it to be able to now know what I am looking for. In my other blog, I share my favourite miniatures, from dolls, houses, re-ment, furniture and so much more. Here I talk about me haha! like that would be interesting!
I have such varied taste so I have made up my collection in my own eclectic way. I started by collecting dolls.

This was the very first pippa doll I bought, she came with 2 other dolls and her hair was terrible! She was completely rerooted by "Daxidan" and is now a beautiful princess!
