update?

I tried to resist the urge to darken the wooden cladding on the exterior of the house as shown in the last post, but it was too late... I used "dark" oak stain by accident instead of medium oak stain and the cladding turned out darker then I wanted...well! never mind.
This is the finished kitchen in the house yippee :-) I wanted to create a feature wall so I used cream card and dark green card to create a pattern on the left wall which also acts as a splash back cool :)

update so far...

I love wooden cladding so I bought some balsa wood and scored it using a pencil and then stained it with strong tea to create the wood cladding effect :-) and then I used a strip of hardwood as a border.

couldn't resist......

I saw this house online and 2 days ago i was walking with my daughter and we spotted it in our local Shop, so i went in and bought it. It was in kit form, I quickly built it with grand ideas of all I could do to it.
The white bricks are not really my thing and I would love to have real brick effect, I have been experimenting with different textures, papers and other stuff, to create my own bricks... i will post more pictures here and on my other blog as I progress :-)

a well stocked shelf - aaaaah!

the pleasure of miniaturing :-)

Its the weekend! I really should be partying...or something! at least thats what the magazines tell me! humph, I probably wouldn't recognize a "party" if it jumped up and bit me lol! well my weekends are when I look forward to "playing with my miniatures" that's what my son calls it.

For mothers day he made me a card and drew a picture of me watching a property show :-) I love watching them as I get inspirations for my mini scenes in my houses, and inside he said my favourite things where ebay and dolls houses! ouch I see where my budgets been going lol!

The weekends are for miniaturing! and there aren't enough hours for it! Its 11.28pm and I still haven't been able to finish all I planned to do today! but at least I found a local model shop where I bought some metal tubes that are quite easy to bend so I will be making stuff out of them soon.

It is spring so maybe a little "doll-house-spring cleaning" maybe :-)

relaxing by the window

Its been a very busy winter with colds, school closures, crazy weather and work! and today with the sun shining, it seemed just the right time to stop with a cup of tea on my window seat and relax :-)

Dinah......feet up!

After the Christmas holidays, the next thing was the sales!
It seemed a good idea to brave the cold and go shopping, but on opening the door, Dinah realised it was too cold to go out! But today, she went shopping, almost everything was gone, apart from some few bits!

Out of the cold in her cosy room, relaxing on her bed with Rachel for company she can open her shopping bags and look at her treasures...ahhhhh!

lovely day :-)
